We had the best assistant helping to read Azul’s heartworm test today! So glad it was negative.
4.23.21: Micaela was fully vaccinated and dewormed this morning. A homeless pet owner we have been helping brought Micaela in who belongs to a neighbor who was in need. It is so touching to know that a person experiencing homelessness themselves would go to such great lengths to help out.

Cuchis, who we saw last month, was tested for heartworms today
Cuchis was heartworm negative and started on prevention!
5.4.21: Dr Gessner flushed Peaches’ infected dog bite wound well and applied antibiotic ointment. Peaches was prescribed an antibiotic, an anti inflammatory, was given dewormer, and also given flea/tick medication, all at no cost.

5.5.21: Lexi injured her paw and despite cage rest, was still limping. With the help of our awesome volunteer, Mindy, we were able to examine her and prescribe medication at no cost. Dr Gessner suspects it is a soft tissue injury, but we will see how she responds to the anti inflammatory medication prescribed.

5.6.21: We gave Togepi her second injection to treat for probable mites. She is back to acting like her normal self at home after the first treatment we gave her and was showing us her cute personality!
